Layers of Earth
Weathering and Erosion
The relief of the Earth has changed over millions of years.
Weathering is the process in which rain, wind and changes in temperature break the rocks into smaller rocks over the time.
Erosion is the process of moving sediments from one place to another.
Rocks also break down for other reasons. For example, tree roots grow in cracks in rocks. As the trees grow, the rocks break apart.
